Police: Three teenagers injured, two critically, in West Philadelphia triple shooting

PHILADELPHIA - Police say a 13-year-old and two 16-year-olds were all injured during a triple shooting in broad daylight on the streets of West Philadelphia.

Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1500 block of North Frazier Street where they located three teens suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The first victim, who police say is a 13-year-old boy, had been shot one time in the abdomen. He was transported to Lankenau Medical Center where authorities say he was listed in critical condition.

Authorities say the second victim, a 16-year-old boy, was shot five times: once in the foot, three times in the armpit, and one time in the abdomen. He was transported by police to Lankenau Medical Center where he was placed in extremely critical condition, according to authorities.

The third victim, who police say is also a 16-year-old boy, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported by police to a local hospital where authorities say he was placed in stable condition. 

Police say a preliminary investigation revealed over 50 shots were fired from an assault rifle. Police believe someone pulled up in a car at Lansdowne Ave and Fairfax Street and began firing at the teenagers. 

Rosalie Puglisi heard the gunshots and says she took cover inside a nearby store on Lansdowne Avenue. 

"I mean there are kids here. A lot of kids live around here. The shootings gotta stop," said Puglisi. 

One resident who spoke to FOX 29's Ellen Kolodziej says he fears the future of the city is compromised because of all the violence. 

"Every situation is sad. Every single situation is sad. We have to get in front of this and I mean like now, or we won’t have any kids left," he said. "There won’t be a future in Philadelphia."

Officials say one weapon was recovered from the scene on Frazier Street, but no arrests were immediately made. 

Minutes after the three teens were struck, authorities say more shots rang out just down the street. 

Shortly before 5 p.m., police responded to the 5500 block of Lansdowne Avenue for reports of another unrelated shooting. 

When officers arrived, they say they found a 45-year-old man who had been shot two times in the leg. He was transported by police to Lankenau Medical Center where authorities say he was placed in stable condition.

No arrests were made in this incident, either, and no arrests have been made.
