Pregnant woman, 2 children killed in overnight Hamburg fire identified

HAMBURG, Pa. (AP/WTXF) - The Berks County coroner has identified the mother and two young children who were killed in a fast-moving house fire in Hamburg.

On Sunday evening, the coroner's office identified the deceased as 5-year-old Gabriel Kalinoski, 2-year-old Julian Gust and 27-year-old Jennifer Wilder, who FOX 29 has learned was also six months pregnant.

While the father's injuries are unknown, he was reportedly taken to the Lehigh Valley Burn Center.

The fire broke out overnight Saturday at a home in Hamburg, about 55 miles (88 kilometers) northeast of Harrisburg. It was brought under control early Sunday morning.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports that a man was able to escape the blaze by jumping out of a second-floor window.

Thick smoke and flames could be seen pouring out of the structure.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though authorities believe it began somewhere on the second floor. Autopsies will also be performed later this week.
