Recall: Tostitos chips sold in 13 states may contain undeclared milk

Frito-Lay is recalling some Tostitos tortilla chips because they might contain undeclared milk.

Bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips were recalled because the bags could contain nacho cheese-flavored chips, which are made with milk.

The chips were sold in 13 states: 

  • Alabama
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

Less than 1,300 bags of chips that were involved in the recall were sold, according to a company media statement.

Frito-Lay said there have been no reported allergic reactions related to the recall. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could have a serious reaction if they eat the chips and should throw them away immediately, Frito-Lay said.

The bags of chips in this recall should have a "Guaranteed Fresh" date of May 20, 2025.

The bags will have a manufacturing code that reads any of the following: 

  • 471106504 - 18 13:XX
  • 4711-65-5 - 85 13:XX
  • 4711-65-6 - 85 13:XX
  • 471106507 - 85 13:XX

The "XX" could indicate any number from 30 up to 55, the company said.

Consumers who purchased the chips are asked to visit the Frito-Lay contact us page here or call 1-800-352-4477 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday. The company said Wednesday that the recall includes less than 1,300 13-ounce bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips.
