Robbery takes violent turn as shooting erupts in Center City: police

PHILADELPHIA - A 42-year-old man was injured after he became the victim of a robbery, then a shooting overnight in Center City.

Officers responded to 17th and Rodman Street to find a man shot in the leg.

He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police say the man was approached by two robbery suspects, one armed with a handgun.

A struggle ensued as the victim grabbed the gun, and a shot was fired, according to police, who say the suspects fled the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time.
