PHILADELPHIA (AP/WTXF) - Police say a two teens are in police custody in connection with the slaying of a high school track star in West Oak Lane.
18-year-old Kristian Marche, who was slated to attend Penn State in the fall on a full scholarship, was fatally shot in the head in an alleyway near his West Oak Lane home on August 13.
Authorities have charged 15-year-old Byron Vinson with murder, criminal conspiracy and related charges in connection with the homicide. 16-year-old Taron Small was taken into custody Wednesday night, according to police.
Homicide Lt. Norman Davenport said one of the teens attempted to break into Marche's home prior to the shooting.

Davenport said there was "some acquaintance" between Marche and the suspects, but the nature of the relationship was unclear.
Penn State says Marche, who graduated from Imhotep Institute Charter, finished second in the 100-meter dash at the 2017 PIAA state championships, third in 2016 and fourth in 2018.
