Second suspect charged in July murder of Philadelphia store clerk

Siddeeq Shakoor, 43, was arrested and charged with the July murder of Kenneth Kennedy-McLeod, a store clerk at Frankford Convenience Store.

Authorities have arrested a second suspect who they believe was involved in a robbery-turned-deadly shooting of a Philadelphia store clerk last summer.

Siddeeq Shakoor, 43, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with the July murder of 37-year-old Kenneth Kennedy-McLeod.

Investigators say Kennedy-McLeod was working behind the counter at Frankford Convenience Store in July when he was shot to death by two robbers.

Kharee Simmons, 37, was arrested and charged with murder days after the deadly shooting. Shakoor spent months on the lam before he was arrested Wednesday.

Both Simmons and Shakoor have been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, robbery, weapons charges, and other crimes.
