PHILADELPHIA (WTXF/AP) - We knew changes were coming and SEPTA tokens were being phased out.
Now, the transit agency will start rolling out the SEPTA Key card feature to senior citizens.
The photo ID lets seniors "tap-and-go" for free trips on all SEPTA subways, buses and trolleys without having to show their ID to a cashier or operator.
SEPTA says the approximately 40,000 seniors who've already applied for a SEPTA Key Senior Photo ID Card will receive them in the mail over the course of the next month.
Seniors who have not applied can do so at a number of locations, including SEPTA Headquarters and at the offices of many elected officials.
