SEPTA's Regional Rail returning to normal after power problems

(WTXF) - There will finally be relief for Regional Rail riders.

SEPTA has announced, "Overhead wire issues have been resolved, and regular service and boarding has resumed on all SEPTA Regional Rail lines. Passengers may experience residual delays while full service is restored."

Commuters faced delays as long as two hours getting into Center City since about 7am. That's when power lines fell onto a train near the Jenkintown station. Passengers on board were stranded and told they could not get off.

Even worse, the inbound service trouble at the Jenkintown Station also affects tracks used by several other lines.

That meant SEPTA's West Trenton, Warminster, Lansdale/Doylestown and Airport Lines all experienced delays of up to 90 minutes.

The delay reached so long -- two hours at Elkins Park and Melrose Park Stations -- that passengers there took shuttle buses service to Fern Rock.
