PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - The Philadelphia Phillies will host the 2026 MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, according to a source.
The far-off date was reportedly strategically selected to commemorate the 250th birthday of the United States of America.
2026 is also coincidentally the 30th anniversary of the last time Philadelphia hosted the All-Star game, and the 50th anniversary of the first time the Vet played host.
This season's mid-summer classic will be held in Cleveland, followed by Los Angeles in 2020.
The league has yet to announce the host cities for 2021-2025.
By 2026, Citizens Bank Park will be 22 years old...and Bryce Harper will be in the 8th season of his 13 year contract.
