South Carolina man charged in deadly robbery-turned-shooting at Delaware motel
NEW CASTLE, Del. - A South Carolina man is facing murder charges in a deadly shooting at a Delaware motel.
Marvin Clifford, 30, is accused of fatally shooting 49-year-old John Pipkin during a robbery outside the Budget Inn in New Castle on Sunday.
Officers found Pipkin in the rear parking lot suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Clifford, a Charleston resident, was later arrested the next day and charged with first-degree murder. He is being held on $1.1M bail.
