GLEN MILLS, Pa. (FOX 29) - A Delaware County school will be closing its doors early this week to disinfect after dozens of students were out sick over the last several days.
St. Thomas of the Apostle School in Glen Mills says 70 students were out sick on Tuesday and 57 stayed home on Friday.
About of the quarter of the faculty also called in sick.
In an email from the principal, the school announced they would be closed on Friday to clean, disinfect, and sanitize.
The schools say they chose not to close earlier than Friday in order to give parents enough time to make arrangements.
School officials say they are hopeful the long weekend will also be enough time for students and staff to get better.
