Bucks County, Pa. (WTXF) - Federal authorities aren't commenting, but high ranking sources say Noah Dratfield's activities over the past year are now on the radar screen of state and county investigators as well as the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Philadelphia.
32-year-old Dratfield, of Levittown, sits in Bucks County prison on $500,000 bail. He's facing a laundry list of charges related to gun purchases from local gun shops and a recent gun show.
"It's a relatively common charge for people who like firearms and want to purchase a firearm. They're really paper violations," Dratfield's attorney Lou Busico told FOX 29 Wednesday night.
Dratfield's attorney is quick to come to his defense. However, Dratfield, who also goes by the name Abdullah Alarcon, is the subject of a lot of scrutiny by state, county and federal investigators who are trying to track down all the weapons.
"The second amendment doesn't put a limit on the number of weapons a person may purchase legally and properly," Busico said.
The state attorney general's Gun Violence Task Force and the FBI raided Dratfield's Junewood Road home in Levittown two months ago. That's where court records say he told investigators they would find handguns and assault weapons he purchased. They found two guns and 10 empty rifle boxes
"Seems to be some questions as to where all these guns are-- can you answer that question at this point," we asked Busico. His reply, "It's too premature in this investigation. The timeline of the case doesn't put us there yet."
Dratfield's attorney says he converted to Islam almost ten years ago. Sources say authorities are now investigating Dratfield's connections to a mosque in Trenton, one in Germantown and another in Newark, New Jersey.
Court records say Dratfield purchased handguns at Classic Pistol, then returned trying to purchase an M-4 assault weapon. He was refused. He purchased several guns at Mike's Gun Shop and an AK-47 at a gun show in Oaks last October.
"He is a man who loves his family and is not a violent human being," Busico added.
Sources say investigators seized at least two cell phones from Dratfield and are searching through them looking for any domestic and international connections.
