Students accused of yelling racist chants basketball game

MERRILLVILLE, IN- Students at a Catholic high school allegedly yelled racist chants at a basketball game.

The incident happening over the weekend.

The video that was taken at the game appears to show fans from a predominantly Latino school chanting "Si se puede!" - which is Spanish for "Yes we can!"

They were reportedly responding to a racist exchange that was started by Trump supporting fans from the rival team.

The person that shot this cell phone video tells a local news station the chants included "build a wall!" and "Please speak English! no comprende!"

"It was sad to see and the administration was standing right there. They didn't step in and say, 'This is not all right. Give me those posters,'" Howard said.

Both schools have released statements calling it a learning lesson.
