Study says 'cheating' on your diet may be the healthiest way to lose weight

Researchers say cheating on your diet may be the healthiest way to lose weight.

Australian researchers looked at two groups of obese men participating in a four month diet.

One group went on and off the diet every two weeks, but on their off week they maintained a calorie balance equaling their activity level.

The other group consistently maintained the diet.

The group who had cheat weeks lost more weight and also gained less back after the study finished.

The study was published in the 'International Journal of Obesity.'
