PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man is facing charges after prosecutors say over 50 pounds of homemade explosives were found inside a rowhome last week.
Evgenii Sadrislamov, who has a previous criminal record, was charged Wednesday with several crimes, including weapons of mass destruction.
Firefighters were called to a property on the 7100 block of Montague Street Friday night for reports of smoke coming from inside a garage.
First responders declared a hazmat situation after investigators say materials to make incendiary devices and fireworks were found at the home.

A man is facing several charges after police say a fire led to the discovery of dangerous materials in Philadelphia's Mayfair section.
Two people, a man and a woman, were rescued from the home and treated by first responders at the scene.
Deputy Commissioner James Kelly III told reporters an "explosive manufacturing lab" was found in the basement and the garage of the rowhome.
The lab, Kelly said, included chemicals used to manufacture homemade explosives, formulas, and "extensive" instructions on how to craft explosives.
Sadrislamov was on probation for a similar incident in 2020 after commercial grade fireworks were found inside his home.
"This was a huge danger to the community, a rowhome possessed explosives that could have leveled a whole block," Assistant District Attorney Angela Brennan said.
Prosecutors say this incident is "a clear escalation" of his prior conviction.
"We really escaped a major tragedy on this one," Kelly said.
