Sylvester Stallone buys replica 'Rocky' statue for 6 figures

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Sylvester Stallone bought the replica 'Rocky' statue from 'Rocky III' for $400,000, according to TMZ.

Stallone posted a video on Instagram of the statue's big move. A rep for SCP Auctions told TMZ Sports that the 9-foot tall, 1,800-pound piece was sold for $403,657 to a new customer (through a buyer) and the statue was shipped to Los Angeles, TMZ reports. The statue went to auction in November with SCP Auctions after the San Diego Hall of Champions closed down.

This is one of two statues created by artist Thomas A. Schomberg. The original statue remains outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

On Christmas, Stallone shared a photo of himself and Arnold Schwarzenegger with the statue at its new home.
