Teen suspect killed in Del. officer-involved shooting

Police are investigating following a trooper-involved shooting that fatally wounded a suspect in Delaware.

Police say the incident took place around 3 a.m. on Saturday when a trooper in Camden stopped a vehicle on Kenton Road in Dover, Del.

When the trooper approached the vehicle, the front seat passenger allegedly displayed a weapon, and an exchange of gunfire ensued.

The 16-year-old suspect was injured during the shootout and succumbed to his injuries after being transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He has since been treated and released from the hospital.

A 15-year-old was in the back of the car at the time of the shooting and left uninjured.

The trooper did not sustain any injuries during the shootout.
