Temple grad stabbed 13 times by student near campus: officials

A brutal stabbing near Temple University left a recent graduate critically injured, and a current student in police custody.

What we know:

Police were called to an off-campus residence on the 1400 block of North 15th Street just after 2:30 a.m.

A 22-year-old man was found on the third floor with 13 stab wounds, 12 to the back and one to the ear.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical, but stable condition.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and face charges of attempted murder. aggravated assault and related offenses.

Temple officials say the victim is a recent graduate of the university, while the suspect is a current student.

Both live in the same apartment building, and are members of the same Greek organization.

"The chapter is not currently recognized by the university due to previous infractions," the university said in a statement Sunday.

What we don't know:

It is still unclear what led up to the stabbing, and police have also yet to release the name of the suspect.
