Plane crash kills father, grandparents of Tennessee college golfer

RELIANCE, Tenn. - Three relatives of a Tennessee collegiate athlete were killed in a plane crash on April 11.
What we know:
The Federal Aviation Administration said a Mooney M20 crashed in the Cherokee National Forest near Reliance around 4:20 p.m. local time.
Three people were on board and were killed.
What we don't know:
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will conduct an investigation.
What they're saying:
Middle Tennessee State University said the victims were relatives of student golfer Carter Maneth. The victims included his father and grandparents.
The university said the family was heading to the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.
"Our hearts are with Carter and his loved ones during this unimaginable time," the university said in a statement. "We are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers, and we ask the Blue Raider community to do the same."
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy," the Cleveland Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
