Thief steals car from Hamilton Township gas station with little girl in backseat

Police are searching for a man in Hamilton Township N.J. that stole a car with a one-and-a-half-year-old girl in the backseat.

The car and the little girl were reported missing at around 6:05 p.m. on Sunday by the child's grandmother. The grandmother said her Honda was parked at a Gulf gas station, while she bought juice for her granddaughter. The thief noticed the keys still in the car and took off.

Police were able to track the car using the GPS on the grandmother's cell phone.It was recovered five blocks away, with the child unharmed in the backseat.

Police say that the man did not want to abduct the child, he just wanted to steal the car.

Police are still searching for the suspect involved in the incident.
