Tires slashed across Queen Village, Society Hill has residents frustrated

Residents in Queen Village and Society Hill horrified as tires are slashed across the neighborhoods.

It’s a terrible sight, walking out to a vehicle to find a flat tire. That was the reality for a lot of people this weekend. Some cars saw other vandalism, too.

About 20 cars were hit across Society Hill and Queen Village. Damage can reach into the thousands of dollars, depending on the types of tires on a car and insurance. A sight as painful for the soul as it is for the wallet.

"It’s kinda, a little bit scary, I guess, because you have no idea who is doing it," resident Linda Lee stated.

Tires slashed in Society Hill, Queen Village leaves residents frustrated

Tires were slashed as well as some windows slashed on vehicles in Socity Hill and Queen Village.

Neighbors first noticed the damage as early as Friday morning. Numerous cars parked on Lombard and Pine, both between 3rd and 7th Streets had multiple tires slashed. Some cars had all the tires flattened.

Lee was one of the lucky ones and did not find any damage to her car.

"Tires are pretty expensive so, I’m also a student so for someone like me, it’s very costly to get those tires changed," Lee added.
