DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (WTXF) - There's big traffic trouble for folks heading east on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, from Chester County towards Philadelphia. SKYFOX was over the smoky scene at mile marker 315.4.
FOX 29's Bob Kelly reports a tractor-trailer caught fire at about 8am, closing closed all eastbound lanes at the Downingtown interchange. That's unfortunate for drivers who already passed there. Those vehicles are stuck in a three-mile backup.
The next exit is Route 29, for E-ZPass customers only.
Fire crews had to use water and foam. The truck was reportedly hauling cardboard.
Bob suggests taking Route 100 south to Route 30, to Route 202 instead - but expect traffic on 202.
