Tree falls on house in Broomall; one dead

BROOMALL, PA.- WTXF - A tree fell on a home in Broomall, Delaware County Friday morning, and the Delaware County medical examiner has confirmed that one person is dead.

The deceased was identified by Marple Township Police as 77-year-old Marjay Cooper, who was discovered in her bed. Her husband, 79-year-old Alan Cooper, was rescued. Police said the two may have been trapped in their bedroom for as long as two hours.

MG Tree Service helped to remove the tree, and Broomall Fire Company was assisted in the rescue by Newtown Square Fire Company, Manoa Fire Company, Garretford-Drexel Hill Fire Company and Marple Township Ambulance Corps.
