Two Metro PCS Stores Robbed At Gunpoint Within an Hour

Two Philadelphia Metro PCS stores robbed in at gunpoint in less than hour, leading to one suspect ending up in police custody.

Police say these are just the most recent incidents in a string of robberies at other wireless stores across the city.

So far, thieves hit cell phone stores from South Philadelphia to the Northeast and over into Roxborough.

One Metro PCS store on Adams Avenue was robbed twice.

The thieves are stealing 20 to 30 brand new phones at a time, totaling several thousand dollars.

A suspect was captured in one of the incidents, and is being questioned by police.

Police believe these phones are being sold on the streets or the black market for $50 to $125 dollars each.
