Vineland Police Chief Pedro Casiano charged with assault

VINELAND, NJ - Vineland Police Chief Pedro Casiano has been charged with simple assault after an incident over the weekend, according to official arrest records. 

Casiano was charged with one count of simple assault, a disorderly person offense, on Sunday.

There is still no word on what led up to the alleged assault or who was hurt.

FOX 29 has reached out to prosecutors, the police department and Casiano, and we are waiting for a response.
