Weather Authority: 10 p.m. Friday forecast

FOX 29 Weather Authority 10 p.m. Friday forecast

As the holiday weekend begins, the severe weather threat is diminishing as the strongest storms lift north and east away from the region and into Monmouth County and New York City.

However, expect a few leftover showers and storms to pop up again late tonight after about 10 p.m. through 11 p.m.  These storms could be gusty, but not severe.

Saturday, FOX 29’s Scott Williams says expect a mix of sun and clouds with a spotty afternoon shower or storm still possible. Highs should top out in the low 80s.

Sunday, expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the low to mid 80s.

Memorial Day should see highs near 90 degrees as the beginning of the first heatwave is likely.
