Weather Authority: Snow impacts Friday morning rush
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Snow piled up across the Philadelphia area overnight creating a mess for the Friday morning rush hour.
A number of area schools have announced closures and delays with the snowfall expected to taper off later in the morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory went into effect at 1 a.m. Thursday and will last until 10 a.m. Friday.
The system moved in shortly after midnight and should move out by around 11 a.m., according to FOX 29's Sue Serio.

Before all is said and done, Philadelphia and parts of the surrounding counties could see 1-3 inches of snow. Areas to the south and east should see a coating to an inch.

Things will eventually warm up slightly on Friday with a high of 40 degrees and the sun expected to come out.
Saturday could also bring some early morning precipitation before getting cloudy later in the day. Sunday will keep up with the patter of moisture with rain expected to fall late in the day.
