Weather Authority: Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for entire area

FOX 29's Kathy Orr is tracking storms still moving through parts of the region.

Rain and lightning continue to impact parts of Delaware and South Jersey after storms moved through parts of the region Monday, packing damaging winds and heavy downpours in some spots.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire area until midnight. 

FOX 29's Kathy Orr says there have been dozens of reports of wind damage across the Delaware Valley. 

In Newark, Delaware, a tree came down right onto a house, trapping a woman on the second floor. Crews had to tunnel in through the roof to get her out. Thankfully, she is okay and two children inside the home at the time were not hurt.

Woman rescued after tree crashes into home in Newark, Delaware

A woman was rescued after a tree came crashing into a home in Newark, Delaware at the height of the storms Monday.

Scattered storms hang around Tuesday morning with heavy rain expected in the noon hour through the afternoon. Temperatures plunge into the 60s for your Tuesday. 

Sunshine returns Wednesday with a high of 78.
