White House lockdown lifted after sign, notebook thrown over fence

The White House was on lockdown Monday morning after a person threw a sign and a notebook over the north fence of the complex, said U.S. Secret Service agents.

The incident was reported around 10:30 a.m. Secret Service agents say two people were taken into custody.

Pennsylvania Avenue and Lafayette Park were closed to pedestrians while the incident was investigated.

No injuries were reported.
