Woman, 25, shot and killed inside home in North Philadelphia

UPDATE: Police have identified a suspect in the death of a woman who was shot and killed inside her North Philadelphia home Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, around 5:13 p.m. officers responded to the 1500 block of Oakdale Street and found Amber Therese Jackson, 25, on the second floor of the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

Friday, police identified Khaleem Martin, 21, as a suspect in Jackson's death.

Martin has been described by police as 6'2", 180 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair and tattoos surrounding his eyebrow area. Police also shared a photo of the animated character "Jack Skellington" on one of his forearms.

Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a 23-year-old woman in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 1500 West Oakdale Street just after 5 p.m.

When police arrived on scene they found a 25-year-old woman on the second floor of the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators say the victim lived inside the home and they have not yet identified a suspect. Surveillance videos were found right outside the home, and police are hoping the footage may provide more information about the incident.
