Woman dies from injuries after car struck by SEPTA train on Media/Elwyn line

A woman has died after a SEPTA train struck her car on the Media/Elwyn line on Monday morning.

SEPTA says the crossing arms came down for an outbound train that passed, but they stayed down for an inbound train. The agency says two drivers decided not to wait and went around the arms.

According to SEPTA, the woman, who was in the third car, did the same but was struck by the inbound train.

Officials have yet to identify the deceased.

This is an ongoing investigation.
