HAYCOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. - An investigation is underway after a deadly fire erupted in Haycock Township early Wednesday morning.
Crews battled the blaze at a home on the 1800 block of Mountainview Drive around 4 a.m.
Pennsylvania State Police say a woman, identified as 73-year-old Holly Susan Pechter-Walters, and a dog were found dead at their back door.

"By the time I arrived, the aftermath was horrible. Everything was burned to smithereens," said Allen Davis, who drove past the large fire. "It’s horrific for the people, for the remaining family members or loved ones. So my prayers to the families and all their associates."
Their cause of death has yet to be released, and the cause and origin of the fire is currently being investigated.
"It’s more complex because of the severity of the fire and how much of the house was damaged, but the investigators are going to go through all parts of the house and what’s remaining and they’re going to do an extensive investigation to determine why this occurred," said Trooper Nathan Branosky, of PA State Police Troop M.
