WEST DEPTFORD, NJ (WTXF) - A woman was injured during a serious two-car collision early Monday morning on I-295 in West Deptford, New Jersey.
The incident occurred in the southbound lanes at 4:28 a.m. when a female driver's vehicle collided with another vehicle as she drove the wrong way.
The male driver of the vehicle that was struck says that he saw the vehicle driving towards him and tried to swerve to avoid it, but was unable to do so.
The male driver's vehicle was hit head-on and the impact sent his vehicle flying over the median into the northbound lanes. Fortunately, he was able to free himself from the vehicle and walk away from it moments before it burst into flames. He was taken to a hospital and has already been released.
The female driver was airlifted to a hospital. Her condition is unknown.
