PAOLI, Pa. (FOX 29) - It was a day one young fan will never forget when Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz surprised him at school.
J.D. Sobota, a third grader at St. Norbert School in Paoli, suffers from arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the center of his brain. AVM is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain.
Earlier this year, he started treatment for AVM at Stanford University Hospital in California. At Stanford, his nurses and friends found out J.D. was a big Zach Ertz fan and reached out to him on Twitter to which Zach replied.
The school and it's students raised over $7,600 during Catholic Schools Week to put towards J.D.'s treatment. After hearing about this, Zach wanted to take the time to visit the school and surprise J.D.
J.D. was given a signed jersey. Zach Ertz stuck around to sign more autographs for the class and took a picture with everyone.
Watch the surprise in the video above.
