Food drive before Phillies' game offered special deals

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Lots of folks spent their Sunday morning helping out the hungry at Citizens Bank Park and they got the opportunity to get free Phillies tickets, and meet Mike Schmidt and the Phillie Phanatic.

ShopRite was hosting its Partners in Caring Food Drive.

People who donated food got a special buy one-get one Phillies ticket opportunity anytime through the rest of the season.

Celebrity visits included Phillies great Mike Schmidt, the Phillie Phanatic, the Galapagos Gang and the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels.

The donated food went to Philabundance, which has been trying "to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever" since 1984.
