Rodgers: Eagles have luxury of taking best available talent in draft
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Tonight, we will finally find out who the Eagles picked up in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville.
On second thought, maybe we will not. We will get back to that in a moment.
Before each team's selection gets their draft caps on, let's look at some possibilities for the Eagles.
First of all, I think there is a good chance Howie Roseman trades down out of the first round. Howie has only stayed in the first round in three of the eight drafts he's been in.
Take last year for example. The Eagles traded out of that first round pick and still grabbed a big talent in the second round in Dallas Goedert.
Over the past few days, there have been rumors about Nelson Agholor potentially being involved in a trade. He's got one year left on his contract worth $9.4 million. I get it's a lot for a slot receiver, but I think they want veteran talent around Carson Wentz.
The Eagles addressed their depth concerns in free agency. I think they have the luxury of picking the best available talent.
I'll say they hold off on getting a running back until Saturday.
