Rodgers: Sixers head into playoffs with questions about Embiid, chemistry
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Wednesday night's Sixers game meant nothing with the three seed locked up. They wanted to rest guys so they sat all of their starters. However, with the playoffs starting this weekend there are some big concerns rising for this Sixers team and I don't think they have an answer.
First, there's the fact that Joel Embiid has missed 14 of the last 24 games and Sixers General Manager Elton Brand wouldn't commit to Joel Embiid being ready to play this weekend. It lends to the fact that the Sixers starting five have only played 10 games together. Yes, 10 games! Brand's response? That talent triumphs cohesion and this Sixers team has a lot of talent.
But once again, let's look at how the Sixers are closing out the season, they have no momentum, they haven't won 16 straight games heading into the playoffs like they did last year and they're limping.
The Sixers are not the Warriors who've won four straight conference finals and can flip a switch in the playoffs--talent may triumph cohesion--but what about experience? That's what keeps a playoff run alive and I don't know if the Sixers have that right now.
