Rodgers: Wentz addresses health, extension as Eagles gather for workouts
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - The Eagles were back at the NovaCare Complex Monday for the first day of their offseason conditioning program.
For the second straight offseason, quarterback Carson Wentz is recovering from a season-ending injury. So, with Carson stepping to the podium, we had to ask about his health.
Wentz says his back is still not 100%, but if he learned anything from the knee injury, it's that he has to be patient.
Last year, when Wentz got back on the field, there was a lot of speculation, and rightfully so, that he was pressing and trying to do too much.
It made sense. Wentz wanted to prove something.
Even tight end Zach Ertz said Monday that Wentz has a chip on his shoulder heading into offseason workouts.
Wentz himself says, as a competitor, he's not built to watch from the sidelines, and the only thing he can do is to be patient.
Wentz has potential big-time long-term deal coming his way soon, and he says he is very excited about the idea of it.
If he wants to get that contract, he needs to understand that his best ability is his availability.
