Sixers Bring Back Ish Smith
WTXF - The Philadelphia 76ers' seemingly endless stockpile of second round draft picks just got depleted by two.
The Sixers announced Thursday that they have acquired point guard Ish Smith in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, in exchange for two second round picks.
Smith played for the Sixers last year, appearing in 25 games and averaging 12 points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes per game. The Sixers also announced that they have waived point guard Tony Wroten.
It's the first trade made by the Sixers since the arrival of new team executive Jerry Colangelo and assistant coach Mike D'Antoni. General manager Sam Hinkie has been known for frequently acquiring extra second round picks in future drafts.
The team did not announce which years the second-round picks are scheduled to convey.
