SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eugenio Suarez hit a three-run homer, Jay Bruce went 3 for 3 and the Cincinnati Reds rebounded from a difficult loss with a 9-4 victory at the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday.
Dan Straily (2-1) pitched five scoreless innings as last-place Cincinnati won for the third time in 16 road games this season. Suarez and Adam Duvall each finished with three hits, and Bruce also scored three times.
The Reds had lost five of six, including the first two of the weekend set in Philadelphia. The Phillies hung on for a 4-3 victory on Saturday night when Suarez was cut down at the plate by left fielder Tyler Goeddel on the final play of the game.
The Phillies are a game behind the Nationals for the NL East lead.
