Extra innings worth it: Kelly's single in 11th lifts Phillies past Braves

Ty Kelly singled home the winning run with two outs in the 11th inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Atlanta Braves. Odubel Herrera hit a tying home run with one out in the ninth off Braves closer Jim Johnson, who blew his eighth save.  

Rupp, Nola help Phillies blank Astros 9-0

Cameron Rupp blasted a pair of two-run homers and Maikel Franco added a two-run blast as the Phillies ripped the Astros, 9-0. Aaron Nola was reached for just four hits while striking out 10 over six shutout innings. It was Houston's third shutout loss of the season and the first in 68 games for the AL West leaders since May 20.

Fisher, Morton lead Astros past Phillies 5-0

Derek Fisher drove in two runs just hours after arriving in Philadelphia and Charlie Morton (8-4) gave up three hits in seven innings and struck out nine.

Gerrit Cole pitched well in the Pirates' 5-2 win at Philadelphia, holding the Phillies to two runs while fanning eight over six innings. Cole and the Pittsburgh bullpen blanked the Phils following Maikel Franco's two-run blast in the first inning. Cole also delivered a tiebreaking, two-run single to cap the Bucs' four-run fourth.

Taillon, McCutchen lead Pirates to blank Phillies

Jameson Taillon struck out a career-best nine over five innings and Andrew McCutchen hit a pair of solo homers in the Pirates' 3-0 shutout of the Phillies. Taillon gave up four hits and improved to 3-1 in five starts since returning from surgery for testicular cancer.

The Dbacks are 13-3 since June 6, but they've actually lost 2 1/2 games on the Dodgers during that span.

Ex-Phillie Mitch Williams wins $1.5M in suit vs MLB Network

A jury in New Jersey has awarded former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams $1.5 million in a civil case against MLB Network after he was fired following reports about his conduct at a Little League game.
