Ryan Howard might have taken his last swings after Atlanta released the 37-year-old from his contract at Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves signed Howard shortly after the season began, hoping he might boost their bench. But the first baseman hit just .184 with one homer and five RBIs. Howard was the 2006 NL MVP, helped the Phillies win the 2008 World Series and has 382 career home runs.
