A federal court jury on Thursday convicted the man who broke into the San Francisco home of Nancy Pelosi and attacked her husband with a hammer on charges of attempted kidnapping and assault.

David DePape testified, tearfully at times, in his own defense on Tuesday about attacking Nancy Pelosi's husband in the couples' San Francisco home.

Paul Pelosi and his wife, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, agreed on Wednesday to allow lawyers, both defense and the prosecution, to perform a home inspection in preparation for the upcoming trial, according to court documents.

Riley June Williams, 23, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was charged but not convicted of helping steal a laptop from Pelosi’s office suite during the riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

The United States Capitol Police was not monitoring security cameras at Paul and Nancy Pelosi's house when an intruder attacked Paul with a hammer on October 28, the department admitted Wednesday. 

Police said David DePape confronted Paul Pelosi in the family's home early Friday and demanded to know, “Where is Nancy?”

The alleged home intruder who attacked 82-year-old Paul Pelosi early Friday holds anti-government conspiracy theories, according to sources.

China had warned of “resolute and strong measures” if Pelosi went ahead with the trip to Taiwan. She is the highest-ranking American official to visit the self-ruled island claimed by China in 25 years.

The weekend arrest of Paul Pelosi, the husband of U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, on suspicion of driving under the influence came after the Porsche he was driving was hit by another vehicle in Napa, authorities said.
