Flash flood watch; rainy weekend ahead

Friday morning fog kicked off what's looking to be a dreary weekend with plenty of rain in the forecast over the next several days.

Foggy conditions caused delays Friday morning at the Philadelphia International Airport, as incoming flights were not permitted to depart for Philadelphia. Weather delays are expected to continue at PHL through the day Friday and Saturday.

As for the rain, a flood watch will be in effect for most of the area beginning Friday afternoon, and will last until Saturday afternoon.

Several inches of rain are expected to hit the area within that time period, especially overnight.

A large system is making its way into the area from the south, and is expected to bring those torrential downpours and potential for flooding with it. There will also be a medium risk for high winds, and thunderstorms.

Some downpours will have the potential to drop several inches of rain on an area in a matter of a few hours.

Temperatures will remain mild with highs in the mid-80s Friday and Sunday, though things will cool off a bit Saturday with highs in the mid-70s.

The weekend may not be a total loss, as things are expected to clear up later in the day Saturday, and Sunday is expected to start cloudy but should bring some sunshine later in the day!
