Weather Authority: 12 a.m. Saturday forecast

FOX 29 Weather Authority 12 a.m. Saturday forecast.

Friday has been a quiet and calm day and, while cool, it also felt a bit comfortable outside with highs in most locations in the mid-40s, under sunny skies.

However, clouds are taking hold of the night sky ahead of rain this weekend.

In addition, a light glaze of ice is set to move in about an hour’s drive north of Philadelphia.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for upper Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties Friday night at 7 p.m. through Saturday morning at 9 a.m. due to the potential for some light freezing rain expected. And, while not issued for upper Montgomery or northern Chester, as well as Mercer County, in New Jersey, those counties should set a watchful eye for Friday night, just in case you are going to be out and about.

Overnight, areas north and west of Philly will see temps dip to around freezing, which will create freezing rain in some parts. It will set up a light glaze, so be watchful for that if you are out.

Saturday will see off and on rain for everyone. There will be breaks, but Saturday is the wettest day of the weekend. Temps will be in the 50s.

Sunday will see temps head into the 60s and most of the Eagles game at the Linc should be dry. There could be some light rain towards the end of the game, but most of that activity holds off until later Sunday night.

Ahead of New Year’s Eve, Monday will see temps rise into the upper 50s, with rain in the morning. New Year’s Eve will see rain in the evening, so that’s a consideration if you have plans. Temps will be in the mid-50s Tuesday.

Wednesday will see light rain in the morning and temps in the lower 50s, though most of the Mummers parade should be dry.
