Philadelphia weather: Winter storm warning issued ahead of Tuesday snow

Monday is the calm before the winter storm, which is about to bring some messy weather to our week.

A Winter Storm Warning has already been issued for Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties as well as Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware beginning Tuesday afternoon and ending Wednesday morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the rest of the Delaware Valley, including lower Bucks, Chester, eastern Montgomery and New Castle counties, as well as the remaining South Jersey counties extending into Mercer.

The snow is expected to roll in around 4 p.m. Tuesday and continue to fall throughout the night, until Wednesday morning.

It should come to an end after Wednesday's morning commute, around 10 a.m.

The southern storm is expected to bring more snow to Delaware and South Jersey, which could see anywhere from 4 to 6 inches.

However, Philadelphia and its northern counties should expect much less.
