PHILADELPHIA - The eye of Tropical Storm Isaias moved across the Philadelphia area this afternoon, but the full breadth of damage has been felt across the Delaware Valley.

Buckets of rain resulted in widespread flooding in Pennsylvania and in Philadelphia. In the wake of Isaias, the FOX 29 Weather Authority says that 4.16" of rain fell in Philadelphia. Areas in Doylestown, Wilmington and Allentown also saw more than 4 inches of rain.

Isaias brings heavy rain, flooding portions of Delaware County

Likewise, wind gusts have downed trees, lifted roofs and even threw cars. Last reported wind gusts in Philadelphia maxed out at 47 MPH. Areas on Long Beach Island reported exceeded triple digit wind gusts, topping out at 109 MPH. Atlantic City reached 52 MPH peak gust, and Barnegat reportedly registered 75 MPH winds.

Assessing Tropical Storm Isaias’ impact on the Jersey Shore

Officials in Burlington County say more than 85,000 homes and businesses are without power due to various damages from Isaias. Properties in Willingboro, Southampton, Pemberton Township, Lumberton, Edgewater Park and Mount Holly are the most heavily impacted, according to officials.
As of 5 p.m. Tuesday evening PECO, PSE&G, and Delmarva Power report a combined 9,200 customers are without power.
Tornado Warnings and watches were triggered throughout the day across the region. At least two tornadoes were reported by the National Weather Service in Barnegat and Strathmere. South of the city, Dover, Del. has declared a State of Emergency after a reported tornado caused damage.

National Weather Service reports confirmed tornado in Barnegat
A trained spotted is reporting a tornado in Barnegat, New Jersey.
The National Weather Service issued more than a dozen Tornado Warnings during the morning and early afternoon. One such possible sighting was in Marmora Township in Cape May County. A FOX 29 viewer captured video of a possible tornado spinning across a street, causing transformer explosions.

FOX 29's Scott Williams says to keep an eye on rising creek waters overnight and into the morning. Areas of concern include the Brandywine Creek, Chester Creek, Neshaminy Creek, Schuylkill and White Clay Creek.
