7 people shot on North Philadelphia street as 3 suspects in vehicle sought: officials

Philadelphia police are looking for three suspects, along with the vehicle used when seven people, including a teenage girl, were shot during a hot evening in the city.

The gunfire broke out around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street.

At least 17 shell casings were found at the scene after police say three male suspects got out of a vehicle and started shooting at a crowd intentionally before driving off.

"Someone in the crowd may have been the intended target," Police Inspector Scott Small said.

The victims ranged in age from 16 to 46, and were all treated at local hospitals in stable condition.

  • 46-year-old female suffered a gunshot wound to her foot
  • 29-year-old female suffered a gunshot wound to her right thigh
  • 23-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his buttocks
  • 19-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his back
  • 34-year-old female suffered a gunshot wound to her left hand
  • 16-year-old female sustained two graze wounds, one to the abdomen and one to the right thigh
  • 18-year-old female suffered a gunshot wound to her buttocks

Police are now searching for a 2004-2008 charcoal gray Acura TSX last seen fleeing on Somerset Street towards 24th Street.

It is described as having faded paint near the sunroof, a missing front grill, and a heavily damaged trunk tied shut with a large strap and an unknown PA tag.

No weapons have been recovered, and a motive is still unknown at this time.

Anyone with information about the suspects or suspected vehicle is asked to contact police.
