Deaf Grandma Hears Children for the First Time
LOUISVILLE, KY (FOX NEWS INSIDER) - The incredible moment that a deaf Kentucky grandmother was able to hear her family's voices for the first time was caught on video.
"Mama?" said 36-year-old daughter Crystal Crawley.
"What?" answered Rita, as Crystal put her hands to her face and started crying.
The 64-year-old was born nearly deaf and wasn't able to afford a hearing aid until recently, when she qualified for a free device from a state program.
The device the state gave her had a value of nearly $3,000.
"Oh yes, it's like Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled all in one, yes it is, yes it is, it's just amazing," Rita told WDRB.
