Driver rescued after fiery crash on Roosevelt Blvd.

A man is in the hospital after his car went up in flames overnight on Roosevelt Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Wednesday near the Ridge Avenue and Kelly Drive exits in East Falls.

Officials say the car flipped first before it caught fire.

A good Samaritan was also driving on the roadway and stopped to help the driver. He says he was simply in the right place at the right time.

The roadway has since reopened, but motorists are warned to take it slow throughout the area, as the water used to put out the fire has left ice on the road.
